Hertsmere Police have confirmed that a road traffic collision has resulted in the closure of the southbound carriageway of the A1(M) at Junction 1 (South Mimms). The incident has also led to a closure on the southbound entry slip road from Bignells Corner to the Barnet Bypass.

Authorities are advising motorists to avoid the area and plan alternate routes as emergency services respond to the incident.

“We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on the southbound carriageway of the A1(M) at South Mimms (J1),” said Hertsmere Police in a social media statement. “Please avoid the area. Thank you for your patience.”
