A substantial reward of up to £20,000 is now being offered for information that could lead to the arrest of Abdul Ezedi, the fugitive wanted in connection with a vicious attack in Clapham that left a woman critically injured. The Metropolitan Police Service continues its extensive manhunt for Ezedi, and authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in locating him.
Investigations into Ezedi’s whereabouts have revealed that there may be individuals with crucial information who have not yet come forward. Authorities have cautioned that anyone found aiding Ezedi in evading capture will face arrest themselves.
Commander Jon Savell expressed gratitude to the public for the significant number of calls they have received, emphasizing the importance of their assistance. He stated, “Your help is critical. A reward of up to £20,000 is now available for information leading to his arrest. I must warn anyone who is helping Ezedi to evade capture – if you are harbouring or assisting him, then you will be arrested.”
The Metropolitan Police Service has been conducting an extensive operation to locate Ezedi, with dozens of officers collaborating with various departments and law enforcement agencies. His details have been circulated nationwide to all UK police forces and ports.
In a direct appeal to Abdul Ezedi, Darius Nasimi, representing the charity the Afghanistan & Central Asian Association, urged him to turn himself in to the police. Nasimi emphasized the seriousness of Ezedi’s injuries that require immediate medical attention and urged him to “do the right thing and hand yourself in to police.” He further encouraged Ezedi to contact the charity for assistance in working with the police on their inquiries.
Commander Savell provided an update on the laboratory analysis of the substance used in the attack. The liquid used was identified as a potent concentrated corrosive substance, either liquid sodium hydroxide or liquid sodium carbonate. Ongoing investigations include a comparison with containers seized from Ezedi’s address in Newcastle.
As part of the renewed appeal, CCTV footage showing Ezedi at the Tesco store in Caledonian Road on January 31st has been released. The injured 31-year-old woman, who remains in critical but stable condition in the hospital, was known to Abdul Ezedi.
