Rapper DigDat’s Attempted Murder Trial Set to Begin

Rapper DigDat, whose real name is Nathan Tokosi, is due to stand trial this week at the Old Bailey, facing charges of attempted murder and firearm offences.

The 25-year-old drill artist from Deptford has denied the allegations, which stem from an incident on Monday, November 20, 2023, on Clydesdale Road, Notting Hill.

The Incident

Police were called to reports of a shooting at 2:05am on November 20. Upon arrival, specialist firearms officers found a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was rushed to a west London hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. His injuries were later deemed non-life-threatening.

Tokosi was charged in February 2024 in connection with the incident.

Charges

Alongside the charge of attempted murder, Tokosi faces allegations of:

  • Possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life or enable another person to do so
  • Possessing three 9mm Parabellum bullets

A Rise to Fame

Tokosi, better known by his stage name DigDat, rose to prominence in 2018 with his single “Air Force”, which reached number 20 on the UK Singles Chart. He later gained widespread recognition and amassed more than 450,000 Instagram followers. The rapper was also signed to Sony Music, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Trial Details

The trial is set to commence on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Old Bailey, where the court will hear the evidence surrounding the shooting.

This case has drawn significant public attention, with DigDat’s fans and critics alike closely watching the proceedings.
