Prisoners at “The Mount” Take Wing for a second time in 24 Hours

Prison riot squad officers have been sent into HMP The Mount for second time in 24 hours as inmates seize the prison accommodation block wing. The Specialist Tornado Team’ was dispatched after staff lost control of part of Nash wing with the prison this morning. The Ministry of Justice confirmed the incident, but said the prison remained secure and there was no risk to the public. It is understood prisoners armed with weapons have seized control of part of Nash wing, which houses 250 inmates who only three months left to serve of their sentences. https:///youtu.be/D_fXG0_Kx8k The Mount is a Category C prison in Bovingdon which holds more than 1,000 inmates. It is described as “a hybrid training and resettlement prison, catering for a number of prisoners in the last six months of their sentence who are residents of Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
