Police Urgently Seek Public Assistance in Locating Reverend Captain Katherine Watson

Police in Newcastle are urgently appealing for the public’s assistance in locating Reverend Captain Katherine Watson, a 50-year-old woman who has gone missing from the Heaton Road area of Newcastle. Authorities are increasingly concerned for her welfare, as she was last seen around 1pm today.

Katherine is described as a white woman, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a slim build and short light grey hair. She was last seen wearing a green hat, dark trousers, a dark hooded top, and carrying a backpack. She has several distinctive tattoos on her arms, as well as a military tattoo on her chest.

Reverend Captain Katherine Watson has a notable background, having served in both military and religious ministries. She joined the Army in 1992 at the age of 18, serving with the Royal Military Police and completing operational tours in Bosnia, Croatia, and Northern Ireland. After being commissioned as an officer in 1997, Katherine left the Army in 2002 to pursue a career in probation services before eventually entering ordination training.

Katherine has been a key figure in the Newcastle community since 2007, joining a local team at NHS Newcastle Hospitals. In 2020, she was appointed head of chaplaincy for the trust.

She was last seen in the Heaton Road area of Newcastle and has known links to the Heaton and Jesmond areas, but may have travelled further afield.

Police are urging anyone with information about Katherine’s whereabouts to come forward immediately. If you have seen her or have any relevant information, please contact the authorities by calling 101 and quoting reference number NP-20241909-0717.
