Police in Mexborough, Doncaster, are urging witnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation of an assault on a postal worker that occurred last month. The incident, which took place between midday and 12.15 BST on Saturday, June 24, outside Morrisons Daily on Hirst Gate, involved two unidentified assailants who attacked the postal worker while he was unloading mail from a post van.
According to reports, the victim, a man in his 40s, was in the process of removing mail from the back of the van when the two men allegedly assaulted him. The attackers are believed to have forcefully shut the van door on the worker’s arm, causing bruising, before subjecting him to verbal abuse.
South Yorkshire Police have released images of the two individuals they believe may have crucial information about the incident. The authorities are now appealing to the public for any leads or recognition of the suspects pictured.
