Detectives are appealing for two women to come forward after they were reportedly sexually assaulted at a bus stop in Highbury on Sunday, February 2.

The incident occurred between 5:55 pm and 6:15 pm at the CW bus stop opposite the City of London Academy on Highbury Grove.

Police were called to the scene after a man in his 50s was witnessed approaching and sexually assaulting two women at the bus stop. However, the two women left the area before officers arrived.

Appeal to Victims

Detectives are now urging the victims to come forward, as their accounts could assist in the investigation.

The two women are described as:

  • White, in their early to mid-20s
  • One had blonde hair, and the other was brunette

Detective Sergeant Thomas Barnes, leading the investigation in Islington, said:

“While we understand the impact of incidents like this – and how difficult it can be to talk about – our officers are on hand to provide specialist support. We urge these two women to come forward with any information.”

The suspect, described as wearing a beige long-sleeved jacket with a dark scarf, was arrested at the scene but later released with no further action, pending further enquiries.
