Police say Three London Murders are not linked in Lower Clapton, Deptford and Knightsbridge.

“Over the past 24 hours there have been three murders in London, in Lower Clapton, Deptford and Knightsbridge. “These are not linked. “Each one of these attacks is a tragedy, not just for the victims and their families and friends, but for our wider communities who are left reeling by this senseless violence. “And the common factor in each one is that someone was willing to carry a knife on the streets of our capital. “Our highly-experienced teams of detectives and investigators are working relentlessly to determine exactly what happened and bring those responsible to justice. “Sadly, they are extremely experienced in confronting the aftermath of such terrible acts and I know that they will approach this task with diligence, determination and compassion. “Tackling violence is the number one priority for the Metropolitan Police. “Tonight, and over the weekend, residents will see more officers on patrol in the areas where these murders took place as well as other parts of London. “This highly-visible policing presence will include officers from our reserve units, including the Territorial Support Group, the Violent Crime Task Force and armed units. “This is in addition to hundreds of local borough officers who are already on the streets as part of their day-to-day duties. “But police do not work in isolation. We can only tackle violence together and need the help of the public to identify those willing to carry knives or involved in these violent acts. “We are grateful for those who already have had the courage to speak to us about those they know pose a danger to others. “It makes our resolve even stronger to provide these grieving families the justice they deserve.
