Police Renew Appeal For Witnesses In Fatal Road Collision

Police are urgently seeking witnesses following a fatal road collision that occurred on Naas Road near the M50 Red Cow junction in Dublin. The incident, which took place around 12.20am on Sunday, resulted in the death of a man in his 20s.

The victim was fatally injured while getting out of a parked car when he was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the initial car and a passenger from the second vehicle, both men in their 20s, were hospitalised for non-life-threatening injuries at Tallaght and St James’s hospitals.

Gardaí are appealing to the public for crucial information that may aid in their investigation. They specifically ask motorists who witnessed a red Volkswagen Golf driving towards the Red Cow junction just before the collision to come forward. Additionally, taxi drivers who operated in the vicinity of the Red Cow roundabout between 12.20 – 12.30 are urged to share any relevant information.

Pedestrians who were walking on the Naas Road in the direction of the Red Cow junction are also requested to provide any details they may have.

A man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released. Gardaí are now seeking assistance from the community, including those with dash-cam footage relevant to the incident.
