Police manhunt for Hit and Run Driver following collision on A32

The parents of a 13-year-old schoolgirl knocked down yesterday in a hit and run have appealed for help in tracing the driver. Mei Jones was crossing the A32 at Corhampton near the Meonstoke shop at around 7.45am yesterday when she was hit by a car which left the scene without stopping. Mei was crossing the road to catch a bus to Swanmore College. Her parents Greg and Kate now hope someone will come forward to help identify the driver. Kate said today: “Mei is in hospital with multiple facial fractures requiring surgery in the next few days. Luckily there are no other injuries. “Her head took all the trauma, but the brain scan is ok. She is unable to remember what happened which is quite scary for her. “If anyone saw or heard anything please get in touch with the police or with Greg or me.” Police want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the accident or think they may have dashcam footage. Please contact the police on 101 quoting reference 44190359241.
