Essex Police have launched a murder investigation following an armed robbery involving a vehicle in Harlow.
A section of Momples Road, near Burgoyne Hatch and The Purple Emperor pub, has been sealed off as officers investigate the incident and a body of person remains covered on a cycle footpath after the mowed down by a van outside the Harefield Church.
The road closure was implemented around 7:00 pm, and traffic is currently unable to pass through the affected area.
The police cordon also includes a section of the cycle track leading to Quarry Spring.
A team of specialist crash collision scene investigators have been called by the the murder squad team after it is understood that a van was driven at the person prior their death.
Yellow numbered crime scene cone have been placed near a hedge row by the church.
