Police Launch Murder Investigation after teen is shot dead in Clapham

 

A murder investigation has been launched following the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Clapham.

Images from the scene show a grey police tent covering the victim’s body. Despite the best efforts of paramedics and police officers, the  boy was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were called at 3.21pm  on Tuesday, 4 March, to reports of a shooting on Paradise Road, SW4. Officers attended the scene alongside London’s Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are working swiftly to identify the victim and notify his next of kin.

Superintendent Gabriel Cameron, leading the local policing response, said:

“This is an enormously shocking incident which I imagine will cause huge distress to the local community. Our thoughts are with the young boy’s family at this devastating time.

“Local officers are on the scene gathering CCTV and speaking to witnesses to piece together what has happened. They will be supported by specialist homicide investigators shortly.

“Please rest assured we will work around the clock to identify and find those responsible.”

 


Police Appeal for Information

At this early stage, no arrests have been made. A crime scene and cordons remain in place as officers continue their enquiries.
