Police Investigate Murder of Okechukwu Iweha in Haringey

Detectives are intensifying their efforts to solve the murder of Okechukwu Iweha in Haringey as investigations into the tragic incident continue.

The police were summoned to Northumberland Park N17 at 5.51am on Sunday, 7 April, following reports of an unresponsive man. Upon arrival, officers discovered 46-year-old Okechukwu Iweha suffering from stab injuries. Despite the valiant efforts of emergency services, including CPR administered at the scene, Mr Iweha was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination conducted at Haringey Mortuary on 10 April concluded that the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.

Okechukwu’s family is receiving support from specialist officers as they navigate this devastating loss.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, leading the investigation from the Specialist Crime Command, affirmed that significant progress has been made in piecing together the events leading to Mr. Iweha’s death. However, he stressed the importance of gathering any additional information from the public. He urged anyone who witnessed or heard anything suspicious in the vicinity to come forward and assist the investigation.

A development in the case occurred on Wednesday, 10 April, when a 33-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of murder. However, he has since been released without further action.
