Police in Southampton swiftly acted on urgent intelligence earlier today, arresting a man convicted of multiple burglaries who had breached his bail conditions.
The suspect, who had been released on bail after being convicted of several burglaries in the city, was spotted in Southampton. Within minutes, officers moved in and detained him. A search of the man’s belongings revealed bolt cutters, leading to an additional arrest for “going equipped” to commit burglary.
The man has now been remanded in custody and will remain in detention until his next court appearance.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said, “Thanks to swift action following hot intelligence, we were able to quickly detain a known offender before any further offences could take place. The discovery of the bolt cutters in his possession led to additional charges.
The suspect will face further charges for breaching his bail and carrying tools intended for burglary at his upcoming court hearing.
