Police Continue Search for Missing Dartford Man Last Seen Over a Week Ago

Police are continuing an urgent search for a 61-year-old man from Dartford, who has now been missing for more than a week.

Wayne was last seen on Spiral Street on April 10, when he was spotted by a relative. Subsequent CCTV footage captured him walking from Central Park to Market Street at 9.46am, passing near the bandstand.

Despite extensive search efforts led by Kent Police, with support from the National Police Air Service and Kent Search and Rescue volunteers, Wayne has not yet been located. Officers continue to comb key areas in Dartford, focusing on Central Park and Brooklands Lake.

Description

Wayne is described as:

  • Mixed race
  • 6ft tall
  • Bald
  • Has a short beard and moustache
  • Often walks with a shuffle
  • May be wearing black jogging bottoms, a grey top, a dark blue jacket, and black shoes
  • Typically wears a lanyard with two keys around his neck

Areas of Interest

Police believe Wayne may still be on foot and is known to frequent areas including Lowfield Street and Princes Road in Dartford.

Public Appeal

Chief Inspector Lee Cheesman issued a direct appeal to the community:

“Our last confirmed sighting of Wayne was on CCTV a week ago. Our search will continue over the Bank Holiday weekend, and I urge people—particularly those living near Central Park or on the Tree Estate—to check their properties, gardens, and outbuildings.

Cyclists, dog walkers and anyone else spending time outdoors in Dartford and surrounding areas should remain alert. Any small sighting or detail could be vital.”
