Daniel Duffield, a paramedic with West Midlands Ambulance Service, had recently appeared in the documentary series “999: On The Frontline,” which aired in March. The series provides an inside look at the life-and-death situations faced by ambulance crews during emergency callouts.

Detective Superintendent Nicki Addison addressed the media, expressing the profound impact of the incident on the victims’ families and friends. “This incident has understandably devastated the families and loved ones of those involved,” she stated. “We’d like to reiterate that the families have asked for their privacy to be respected at this tragic time. Please respect that.”

Addison also cautioned against speculation, underscoring that it is “unhelpful and hurtful to the families – and can hinder our investigation.” She expressed gratitude to those who have provided information and noted that the scene would be released after the completion of investigative and forensic work.

As the community grapples with the tragic loss, the police continue to piece together the events leading up to the deaths of Duffield and Evans, while urging the public to remain patient and respectful of the ongoing process.
