Police arrest exlover following string of offences in Sandown that saw Armed Police deployed

A 31-year-old man from the Isle of Wight who is understood to have been in a relationship with the victim. Has arrested on suspicion of harassment, criminal damage and wasting police time following a string of incidents in Sandown. The man is being quizzed by Police following Armed Police officers being deployed to Leed Street on Friday night after receiving a report of a man with a weapon. Specialist officers from the Island and the mainland carried out a major operation that saw the street be placed in lockdown no weapon was located and no offences were identified but a number of holes started to develop in the man allegations. The second armed deployment to Leed Street added to the lockdown when chemicals were placed on the front door of the man property calling for the fire service to declare a suspected chemical incident. Days later a 59-year-old man was arrested and an air rifle was recovered. The man was released from Police custody without charge. Police say that a 31-year-old man, from Sandown, has bee arrested and question about a number of offences has been released on conditional bail until 17th June 2019. Investigations continue.
