Police Arrest 76-Year-Old Man on Suspicion of Murder Following Woman’s Death in Wootton

Police were called to an address in Glendale Close, Wootton, at 9:42 am on Monday, September 9, following the death of a woman. Officers are currently conducting enquiries as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed that the woman’s family has been informed and are being supported by police. Authorities are keeping an open mind as they continue their enquiries into the cause of death.

As part of our ongoing enquiries, police arrested a 76-year-old man at the address on suspicion of murder,” the police spokesperson said. “He remains in custody at this time.”
