Police are appealing for help to identify a woman believed to have been injured in a hit-and-run collision near Wembley Arena late on Thursday night (17 April).
The incident occurred on Engineers Way at approximately 11:10pm, shortly after a concert by dancehall artist Alkaline had ended. The area was crowded with concertgoers at the time.
Footage recorded by a member of the public shows a woman dancing in the road, narrowly avoiding oncoming vehicles. Moments later, a car is seen striking her and carrying her roughly 30 yards on the bonnet before she is thrown to the ground. The driver did not stop at the scene.
Concerned members of the public immediately called emergency services, but when officers and paramedics arrived, the woman had already left the area. A search was conducted, but the woman was not located.
A 33-year-old woman was arrested nearby on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while over the legal alcohol limit. She has since been released on bail pending further enquiries, with a court date set for early June.
Detectives are now urgently trying to identify the woman in the footage to ensure her safety and offer any necessary medical support.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“We are concerned for the wellbeing of the woman involved and urge anyone who knows her or who witnessed the incident to come forward. It’s important we ensure she receives appropriate medical attention and support.”
