Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Reported Rape in Gillingham Park

Detectives are appealing for witnesses as they investigate a report of a woman who was allegedly raped in Gillingham Park. The incident reportedly occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024, near the Canterbury Street entrance of the park.

Following initial investigations, police arrested a 43-year-old man from Gillingham the following day. He remains in custody while officers continue to pursue various lines of inquiry to clarify the circumstances of the case. These efforts include forensic analysis of the scene and checks for any available CCTV footage.

Investigators are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Sunday evening and who might have information that could aid the investigation.
