Police Appeal for Witnesses After Attempted Assault in Southwick

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted assault involving a weapon in Southwick on the evening of September 24.

The incident took place between 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm on The Twitten. It was reported that a man drove towards three men before approaching them with a hammer. The three men then assaulted the man and fled the scene.

A 23-year-old man from Lancing was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in public. He has since been released on bail while further enquiries are being conducted.

Officers are keen to speak with the three men involved in the incident as they may hold crucial information that could assist the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is urged to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1517 of 24/09.
