Police Scotland are seeking the public’s assistance as they investigate a fire incident at a farm located off the A7 in Heriot, Scottish Borders. The incident occurred at approximately 6.30am on Saturday, October 14, prompting the presence of officers who assisted the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
According to Inspector Colin Deans, the fire engulfed two barns that were filled with hay bales. Thankfully, no individuals or livestock were harmed during the incident. However, authorities are conducting inquiries to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fire.
The farm buildings are situated at the end of a lane that connects to the A7, and investigators are urging residents of the area, as well as any commuters who may have witnessed anything suspicious, to come forward with any relevant information. Inspector Deans added that individuals who were driving in the vicinity and possess dash-cam footage that could potentially aid their investigation are also encouraged to reach out to the police.
