Police Appeal for Help as Firearms Offender Brian Odour Absconds from Prison

Police have launched a public appeal to trace a convicted firearms offender who has absconded from HMP Springhill, an open prison in Buckinghamshire.

Brian Odour, 34, failed to return to the prison near Grendon Underwood after being granted temporary release on Tuesday (March 25), Thames Valley Police confirmed today.

Odour, who was jailed for possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, had his temporary licence revoked, but has not yet returned to custody. Officers are now urging the public to assist in locating him.

Description and Known Locations

Odour is described as being around 6ft tall, of medium build, and is known to frequent several areas across London, including Hayes, Hammersmith, Fulham, and Edgware. He also has links to Bushey in Hertfordshire, as well as Dunstable and Houghton Regis in Bedfordshire.

Public Warning: Do Not Approach

Investigating officer Claire Busby urged the public not to approach Odour if spotted.

“We are appealing for the help of the public to trace Brian Odour.

If you see Odour, do not approach him and call 999 immediately instead.”

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Thames Valley Police on 999, quoting incident reference [if available], or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
