West Midlands Police are urging residents to come forward with any CCTV or doorbell footage that could aid their investigation into a recent surge of suspicious activity and vehicle-related crimes in the Quarry Bank and Brierley Hill areas.
Over the past week, authorities have received multiple reports of suspicious behaviour, including individuals attempting to open car doors. One incident on Bickon Drive, Quarry Bank, resulted in the theft of a vehicle on September 19.
Sergeant Richard Galbraith from the Dudley policing area stated, “We understand the community’s concerns regarding these incidents. While we appreciate those who have already provided information, we believe additional footage may exist that could significantly assist our investigation.”
In response to the reports, local law enforcement has increased patrols and is actively reviewing available CCTV footage. However, they stress the importance of community cooperation in solving these crimes.
Our main objective is to identify and apprehend the individual or individuals responsible for these offences,” Sergeant Galbraith added.
The police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have information relevant to their inquiries. Those with potentially useful footage or information are encouraged to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting log 736 18/09/24. Alternatively, individuals can use the Live Chat function on the police website.
For those wishing to remain anonymous, information can be provided through Crimestoppers, an independent charity, by calling 0800 555 111.
