Police Appeal After Two Attempted Car Break-Ins in Crowborough

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses and footage following two attempted car break-ins in Crowborough on the morning of Sunday, April 13.

At around 8:30 a.m., a man was seen trying to access a parked vehicle at a residential property on Crowborough Hill. The suspect—described as having facial hair, wearing a white hoodie, and carrying a white bag—was interrupted by the vehicle owner and fled on foot.

Shortly afterward, the same man was spotted at another address on Green Lane, where he was reportedly attempting to break into a second vehicle and searching through bins.

Police are following multiple lines of enquiry and have issued an urgent appeal for information. Officers are particularly interested in CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incidents.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said:
“We are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen this individual or captured footage of him. Your information could be crucial to our investigation.”

Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Sussex Police via their website or by calling 101, quoting reference serial 266 of 13/04.
