Police Alert After Knife-Wielding Man Reported in Kennington Ashford

Residents of Bybrook Road in Kennington Ashford were left alarmed in early this morning after reports emerged of a man armed with a knife walking the street and behaving aggressively.

The man was spotted at around 1am on Friday 22nd November 2024, pacing the road while holding a knife. Witnesses reported hearing him repeatedly shouting that he was going to “give someone ‘one in the neck.'”

Incident Description

The individual reportedly stood in front of a taxi, raising the knife at one point, and later chased after the vehicle. Witnesses described the scene as “scary” and have urged residents travelling in the dark to remain vigilant.

Police Response

Police were called to the scene, but it remains unclear whether the man was apprehended.  Police are urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Community Warning

Residents are advised to stay cautious and report any suspicious behaviour to the police. The public is also encouraged to share safety tips and warnings with neighbours, particularly those travelling alone or in poorly lit areas.
