Police Air Support called to carry out search on the Isle of Wight

The national air support helicopter based at RAF Benson in Oxford has been called in to assist officer from  Hampshire Constabulary on the Isle of Wight this afternoon. The Eurocopter EC135 was called just after 5pm on Sunday afternoon. Officers are attending the Carisbrooke Priory and have been speaking to staff who have revealed that a high-risk person has gone missing and a search is being conducted. The  NPAS air asset is currently carrying out a search over the Carisbrooke area of the Island. The helicopter is searching woodland near to the Mountjoy cemetery. Hampshire Police have been approached for comment and have said that the helicopter has been called in to assist officers in an active incident and would it wouldn’t be appropriate to release details at this time
