Places Offering Free or £1 Meals for Kids During the 2023 Summer Holidays – UKNIP

Summer holidays can be a challenging time for parents as they face increased food expenses while trying to keep their children well-fed. To alleviate the financial burden, consumer website Money Saving Central has compiled a list of places where children, typically aged 10 and younger, can enjoy free or inexpensive meals throughout the six-week school break.

Major supermarkets, including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Morrisons, are offering attractive deals for families. Asda’s cafes are providing meals for kids at just £1 throughout the day, with no requirement for adult purchases. The supermarket has also introduced vegan and nutritionally balanced options to its menu, and each kids’ hot meal deal includes a complimentary piece of fruit.

Tesco’s cafes are offering free breakfast for kids with any adult purchase, while their “Kids Eat Free” promotion will be available from July 24 to September 1. Their “Little” range includes tasty options such as beans on toast, eggs on toast, avocado on toast, and blueberry pancakes. Moreover, for every adult meal purchase, families can enjoy a filling lunch deal where children can choose a main, two sides, and a drink.

At Sainsbury’s cafes, kids can eat for just £1 when accompanied by an adult meal, starting from 11:30 am every day. Morrisons is offering a free kids’ meal all day with a minimum spend of £4.49.

Various other venues are also participating in these money-saving initiatives. At Yo! Sushi, children eat for free with every £10 spent by adults from July 17 to August 11. Bella Italia offers £1 meals for children when accompanied by an adult ordering a main dish, available from 4 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Thursday. Families visiting IKEA can feed their kids for as low as 95p after 11 am.

Hotels are also joining the effort to provide affordable dining options for families. At Premier Inn, one adult paying £8.99 for breakfast can enjoy free meals for two children. Additionally, selected Gordon Ramsay restaurants, including the York & Albany in Parkway, Camden, and Pizza East restaurants, offer complimentary meals from the set menu for children aged eight or younger when accompanied by adults dining from the à la carte menu.

These initiatives aim to support families during the summer holidays, ensuring that children have access to nutritious meals without straining their parents’ budgets. Families are encouraged to take advantage of these offers and enjoy their summer break with peace of mind knowing that their children’s meals are taken care of.
