Paramedics from London’s Air Ambulance trauma team were dispatched and arrived in under four minutes. Two men, both aged 22, were treated on scene.

Roads Closed and Scene Sealed

Photos show the severely damaged car upside down, with debris strewn across the pavement and a smashed lamppost nearby. The base of the Eros Fountain appears intact, though police have cordoned off surrounding roads.

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“At 05:28hrs on Sunday, 29 June police were called to Piccadilly Circus following a single vehicle road traffic collision.
A black BMW had overturned, ending up next to the Eros fountain.
There are road closures in place around Piccadilly Circus while our investigation continues.
No pedestrians were injured and no other vehicles are believed to be involved.”

Witness Accounts

A witness on social media wrote:

“The car looked like it had driven straight into the fountain. Roads around the roundabout are completely closed. It’s the busiest spot in London on a weekend – total chaos.”

Ongoing Investigation

Police are continuing their enquiries into the cause of the crash. No arrests have been made, and investigators are appealing to any witnesses or those with dashcam footage from the area between 5am and 5.45am to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting reference 29/06 Piccadilly crash.
