Daniel Ramzi, 26, and Abderrahim Mamma, 29—both homeless—have pleaded guilty to four counts of theft each, after a spree of brazen daylight robberies across London’s financial district.
Quick Snatches at Bishopsgate and Leadenhall Market
On January 15, the duo struck at a england/england/bishopsgate/”>bishopsgate/”>Bishopsgate fast-food spot, snatching a mobile phone straight from a victim’s Coatcoat Pocketpocket. They didn’t stop there.
- Later that day, they nabbed laptops from bags at a licensed venue on Gracechurch Street and a pub in Leadenhall Market.
- CCTV caught them nonchalantly reaching Overover barriers to swipe bags, pulling out laptops, then replacing the bags as if nothing happened.

Bag Swaps at Old Broad Street Pubs
Less than a week later, on January 21, Ramzi and Mamma hit pubs on Old Broad Street. Ramzi brazenly swapped a bag from a pile with a fake one, then repeated the stunt with another group before fleeing.
Jail Time and City Ban for Serial Thieves
Mamma, who admitted to seven more thefts outside The Citythe City, got 20 months behind bars and a 5-year Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from the london/”>City of London. Ramzi was sentenced to 14 months in prison.
Police Vow to Crack Down on City Crime
“This is another great result in seeing two prolific bag thieves behind bars. We hope that these sentences will give reassurance to businesses and members of the public that we take such offences very seriously,” said Sergeant James Wood of the City of London Police.
“Our warning to criminals; don’t come into the City to steal bags. We will bring those committing crimes in the City to justice and we will use all of our resources to help prevent and deter any further criminal activities.”
