Person Struck by Train at Romford Railway Station

 

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious incident at Romford Railway Station after a person was struck by a train.

The incident was reported shortly before midday at South Street, Romford  prompting a swift response from British Transport Police, London Ambulance Service, and specialist fire rescue units. The railway lines remain live as of the latest update, and passengers are being urged to avoid the area.

 

Status of the Incident

It is currently unknown whether the person involved has survived, but emergency responders remain on site. Passengers have reported trains being held and significant disruption across Greater Anglia and Elizabeth Line services.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed:

“Officers were called to Romford Railway Station following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Emergency services remain on scene and the lines have been closed in both directions. The incident is being investigated.”

National Rail has advised that services through Romford may be subject to delays, cancellations, or diversions while the incident is managed.
