Emergency services were called to a dramatic rescue near Folkestone’s Harbour Arm last night after a person became trapped in mud.
According to a Coastguard spokesperson, the 999 services received a call at approximately 8:40pm on Friday evening about a person stuck in the mud near the popular landmark. Rescue teams, including Coastguard units and paramedics, quickly attended the scene.
The casualty was successfully extracted from the mud and received immediate medical attention from paramedics on the beach before being transported to William Harvey Hospital for further treatment. The condition of the individual has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities have reminded members of the public to exercise caution when visiting coastal areas, especially in areas with potential mud hazards, as these incidents can quickly turn dangerous.
