Person killed after being hit by a train near Hartley Witney – UKNIP

 

A person has sadly died after being struck by a train near Hartley Witney this evening.

The incident  happened near to Pale Lane Farm  Winchfield on Tuesday evening.

 

At around 8pm today the British Transport Police were called to an incident on the tracks where the person was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officers have said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

In a statement it said : “It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train in the Winchfield area.

“All lines in each direction are currently blocked between these stations while the emergency services work to deal with this incident.”

Network rail have called in the support of fire crews  from Hampshire Fire and rescue to assist in detraining passengers who where onboard the train that struck the person involved in the fatality.
