A person has tragically died after falling unwell at Eltham Park South in Glenesk Road earlier this morning.
Emergency services were called to the popular park at 8.02 am following reports of a person collapsing. London Ambulance Service responded promptly, dispatching an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer.
Despite the rapid response and medical efforts at the scene, the individual was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said:
“We were called at 8.02am today (7 April) to reports of a person unwell in Eltham Park, Eltham. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer. Sadly, despite our best efforts, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The cause of the medical emergency has not been disclosed, and the person’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
Local residents expressed their shock at the incident, with one park visitor commenting, “It’s heartbreaking to hear that someone lost their life here this morning. The emergency services were quick, but it’s so sad that nothing could be done.”
The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further information regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident. No details regarding the person’s age or any potential health conditions have been released at this time.
Eltham Park South, known for its open green spaces and community activities, remained open to the public following the incident. Authorities have not reported any ongoing investigations related to the death.
