Pensioner Found Dead in Wheelchair in Quiet Bath Cul-de-Sac

A man in his 70s has been found dead while strapped into a wheelchair in a quiet residential road in Bath.

Emergency services, including Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, were called to Valley View Close, Larkhall, shortly after 11am on Monday (11 August) following reports of a man found unresponsive.

Two ambulance crews, an ambulance operations officer, a first responder and critical care medics from the air ambulance attended the scene. Despite their efforts, the pensioner was pronounced dead at the location.

Police officers were also called to support the South Western Ambulance Service during the incident.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said:

“Sadly a man, in his 70s, died. The cause of death is not considered to be suspicious. Our thoughts are with the man’s family who are aware of his death.”

It is understood the man was found strapped into a wheelchair when emergency services arrived.

The death is being treated as a medical incident and a file is expected to be prepared for the coroner.
