Pedestrian Dies Following Collision Near Wigston

A 22-year-old man has tragically died following a collision near Wigston, Leicestershire, on Friday, 17 January.

The incident occurred just before 6:30am on a stretch of road between Kilby and the River Sence. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly passed away on Monday, 20 January.

Arrest and Investigation

A 53-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.

Detective Constable Paul Hicks from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) said:
“Officers are providing support to the man’s family at this difficult time. Our investigation to establish the circumstances of what happened is continuing, and I’d appeal for anyone who can help, but who has not yet spoken to us, to come forward.”
