Pcso Lisa Paul Was Honoured At The Isle Of Wight District Commander's Awards Event For Going Above And Above To Help An Elderly And Vulnerable Man In Cowes

Earlier this year, the guy, who is in his 80s and has dementia, went to the local library to report being shoved to the floor and having his wallet taken.
Officers from the Cowes Neighbourhood Policing Team later paid the individual a visit at his house, where he lived alone with his dog.
Attending police grew worried about his living conditions, so PCSO Paul returned many times over the next few days to see what she could do to help, including seeing him after he was involved in an accident. Fortunately, he was unharmed.
Lisa discovered him prostrate on the floor and unable to move during an unplanned visit. It’s unclear how long he had been in this posture when Lisa summoned an ambulance.
The guy declined medical attention but was visited the next day by health care personnel who transported him to the hospital when he fainted again.
Lisa then went to the man’s home address twice a day to watch after his dog, and she kept in touch with him to reassure him of his pet’s safety.
She also called family members and other organisations to attempt to locate alternate housing for the dog before securing a temporary shelter four days later.
Lisa paid the man a visit while he was still in the hospital to show him videos and images of his dog.
Lisa provided assistance and hospital visits for two weeks, during which time she also spoke with health care specialists and the man’s letting agents to aid in his recuperation and locate him a new and safer place to live.
Lisa, shown above with Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney and Superintendent Jim Pegler, not only saved this man’s life and aided his recuperation, but her efforts changed his life forever.
