Andrew Temple, a vile paedophile who raped his niece from the age of eight, has died in prison. The 60-year-old was serving eight years for horrific sex crimes when he passed away at HMP Edinburgh on Saturday, October 11.
Horrific Abuse Spanning Years
Temple, from Loanhead in Midlothian, was convicted at Edinburgh High Court of seven offences including two counts of rape and three of indecent behaviour against Kerrie Feehan, as well as two additional indecency charges involving boys.
His abuse took place across Easthouses, Dalkeith, and Fort William between 1996 and 2004.
Victim’s Harrowing Story
Kerrie revealed Temple assaulted her up to 3,000 times between the ages of 8 and 16. The nightmare began when he raped her while her sister slept in the next room.
Desperate and traumatised, Kerrie tried to end her life at 15, taking an overdose — only for the abuser to creep into her hospital room and assault her again.
She later discovered she was pregnant with Temple’s child but lost the baby after four months.
At 17, Kerrie secretly recorded an attempt to get Temple to confess, but he grew suspicious, attacked her with a knife during the confrontation.
Justice Delayed but Served
Kerrie went to the police multiple times. In 2003 and again in 2010, her complaints were ignored, letting Temple carry on abusing.
It was only in 2014, after moving to South Shields and finding support from her partner Caroline, that the case progressed and finally led to Temple’s conviction.
He denied all charges but was found guilty and jailed.
Prison Death Confirmed
A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson confirmed: “Andrew Temple, 60, of HMP Edinburgh has died on 11 October 2025.”
