In a shocking revelation from Crawley, 35-year-old Jonathan Price, a former motor mechanic, has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison following his guilty plea to 16 serious offences, including the distribution of indecent images of children and possession of extreme pornographic materials.

Price’s criminal activities came to light in December 2022 when he was first arrested at his Tilgate area residence and found in possession of indecent images of children, extreme pornography, and cocaine. Despite being released on bail under stringent conditions, Price audaciously continued to engage in his illegal activities, leading to another arrest in August 2023.

The persistent offender made futile attempts to conceal his crimes, including trying to hide a mobile phone when police apprehended him for new offences and resisting arrest. He later claimed that the incriminating phones were owned by friends, a statement contradicted by evidence showing his direct usage.

Further investigations revealed Price’s attempts to engage in sexual communication with children online. His sentence at Lewes Crown Court on March 28 marks the end of a disturbing chapter, highlighting his defiance of the law even while under scrutiny.

As part of his sentence, Price faces a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, severely limiting his access to electronic and digital communication devices and requiring strict monitoring of any permissible use. He is also mandated to disclose any contact with children to their parents or guardians and is now registered as a sex offender, reflecting the gravity of his actions and the community’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
