Fire at Industrial Premises in Swanley Causes Road Closures

Kent Fire and Rescue Service swiftly responded to an outbuilding fire at a restaurant located on London Road in Tunbridge Wells yesterday evening (Sunday, April 14).

The incident, which occurred around 6:09 pm, prompted the dispatch of three fire engines to the scene. Firefighters utilized a high-pressure hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze efficiently.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the fire. However, the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental, believed to have originated from hot items being improperly disposed of in a bin.

The prompt and coordinated response from emergency services helped prevent the escalation of the situation, minimizing potential damage to the property and ensuring the safety of nearby residents.

As the investigation into the incident continues, residents and business owners are reminded to exercise caution when disposing of hot items to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
