Officers Investigating An Allegation Of Stalking In Newham Have Released An Image Of A Man They Would Like To Speak To

An investigation began in December 2021 after a 19-year-old woman reported she had been approached by a man in the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre who asked her on a date.

After she refused, the man returned the following day and spat at her.

Since the incident took place, detectives have carried out a number of enquiries to identify the man concerned.

Detective have now released an image of a man they are looking to speak to in connection with their investigation.

Detective Constable Marlon Caldwell, who is leading the investigation, said: “As a result of this man’s actions the victim now completely avoids Stratford Westfield shopping centre. No one should ever have to modify their behaviour because of the unwelcome actions of somebody else.

“Incidents of this nature are completely inappropriate and we are conducting a full and through investigation to bring the person responsible to justice. I would therefore ask the public for their help, if you recognise him please get in touch with us.”

If you have any information that could help the police investigation please call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD 3646/4Dec.
