Officers were called at around 5am today (Saturday 19 March) following reports that a car had collided with the Co-op store building, causing damage to a door, before some of the car occupants entered the store. Police remain at the scene while we carry out further enquiries. District Commander, Ian Hughes, said: “Anyone who saw something suspicious in the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact us. “Perhaps you have dashcam footage of a car acting suspiciously at the time? “We would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw a red mini in the area.” We need anyone who saw anything or has any dashcam footage to contact us. If you have any information you can submit a report online at https:///www.essex.police.uk or use the ‘Live Chat’ button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
