Northolt Flat Blaze Sees Four People Taken to Hospital
Major Incident Declared in Northolt as Fire Breaks Out on Racecourse Estate

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has confirmed that a blaze at a block of flats on Newmarket Avenue, Northolt, is now under control. The fire, which engulfed half of the roof of a five-room flat in the Racecourse Estate, saw residents evacuated and emergency services rushing to the scene.

The London Ambulance Service reported that four people were treated and subsequently taken to the hospital. Their conditions are currently unknown.

Northolt resident Nataliya Klymko witnessed the fire from her living room window, describing the scene as “something out of a movie.

Things have died down but we still have a large fire brigade presence and the area is cordoned off,” Klymko told Ealing Nub News. “My younger brother noticed it… he ran into the kitchen and said ‘I smell smoke’ so we went out to find out.”

She added: “It was something out of a movie, the smoke was just everywhere… I couldn’t see in front of me.”

According to Klymko, firefighters were evacuating people, with one individual being airlifted by an air ambulance. Metropolitan Police units were also on the scene, assisting with the evacuation and cordoning off the area.

Firefighters were called at 1:37 pm, and crews from Northolt, Ruislip, Wembley, and surrounding fire stations responded to the emergency.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
