A vile rapist who targeted a woman he met in a nightclub has been jailed for eight years. Twana Azize, 29, from College Road, Hereford, was sentenced today (Friday 17 October) for attacking his victim in Hereford city centre in the early hours of a Sunday morning this May.
Horrific Attack in Hereford City Centre
Azize met the woman at a nightclub before isolating her from her friends. He stopped her from getting a taxi home. Then he dragged her away from the taxi rank and raped her in a quiet street, far from any passersby.
The brave victim escaped and managed to get home safely, reporting the horrific ordeal to the police.
Justice Served at Worcester Crown Court
Azize was found guilty of rape at Worcester Crown Court on 22 August. Today, he was sentenced to eight years behind bars and ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
Despite his denials, forensic tests on Azize’s clothing backed up the prosecution’s case. Police arrested him after reviewing CCTV footage and conducting searches.
This sentence sends a clear message: predators who target vulnerable women will face justice.
