A murder investigation is underway following a tragic incident that left 44-year-old Shane Boxall with fatal injuries. The victim was assaulted inside a property on Alaska Street in Hull on Thursday, April 25.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene after receiving reports of the assault around 05:45. Shane Boxall was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, where he remained in critical condition for three days. Despite the tireless efforts of medical professionals, Shane succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, April 27. His grieving family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Jon Cross, the Senior Investigating Officer, addressed concerns within the local community. He emphasised that this incident appeared to be an isolated event involving individuals who were known to each other. The investigative team has been diligently pursuing leads, including reviewing CCTV footage, conducting house-to-house inquiries, and performing forensic examinations.
Two men were charged in connection with the assault on Friday, April 26. In light of Shane’s death, the Crown Prosecution Service is now being consulted regarding potential additional charges.
