A murder investigation has been launched following the fatal stabbing of a woman in Tower Hamlets in the early hours of Sunday, 15 September.
Police were called at around 1.17am to reports of a woman suffering from stab injuries at a residence on Duckett Street, E1. Despite the prompt arrival of London Ambulance Service, the woman, believed to be in her 30s, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have confirmed that the victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Two arrests have already been made in connection with the case. A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Additionally, a 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is also in custody.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dalloway of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation. In a statement, he said, “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in a young woman losing her life. Those involved appear to be known to each other and were present at the address during the course of the evening. While this investigation is in its early stages, we have made significant progress and arrested two people. At this time, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”

He urged anyone who might have witnessed the incident or has any relevant information to come forward and assist the investigation.
Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney from the Central East Command Unit, which covers Tower Hamlets, expressed his condolences to the victim’s family, stating, “My thoughts are with the family of this young woman at this very difficult time. Over the coming days, local officers will be in and around Duckett Street to provide reassurance to the community and to offer a chance for anyone with concerns or information to speak with us.”
A crime scene remains in place at the address, and the investigation into the circumstances of the stabbing is ongoing.
