Murder Investigation Launched After Man Found Dead in Strood

Detectives are piecing together the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a man in his 60s, whose body was discovered in a residence on Gun Lane, Strood, early Friday morning.

Kent Police were called to the scene at approximately 12:30 AM on 26 July 2024, where they found the deceased man inside the property. The nature of the man’s death has led authorities to treat the case as suspicious and a full-scale murder investigation has now been initiated.

In connection with the death, a 42-year-old local woman, who was known to the victim, was arrested around 4 AM. She is currently being held in custody as inquiries continue.

The local community is under shock as police cordon off the area to conduct forensic examinations. Detective units are actively seeking any information from the public that might shed light on this case.
