Detectives have named the man found deceased inside a property in Ipswich, as a murder inquiry is now underway.
Officers were called to an address on Hawthorn Drive shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, where they discovered the body of 63-year-old William McNicholl, known as Billy, from Ipswich.
Cause of Death Confirmed
A Home Office post-mortem examination, conducted on Saturday, January 4, determined that the cause of death was multiple injuries, leading police to treat the incident as suspicious.
The Suffolk Constabulary’s Major Investigation Team is leading the murder inquiry, with a police cordon remaining in place at the property near the junction with Marigold Avenue as forensic teams continue their investigation.
