Police are seeking information after a woman’s body was discovered in Queens Park, Brighton, on Friday night (17 June).
Detectives are treating her death as unexplained, and investigations are ongoing to determine what happened.
At 9.49 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to a report of an unconscious woman discovered by a member of the public near the clock tower area of the park on West Drive. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
This has been a fast-moving investigation involving colleagues from across the force while we worked to discover the circumstances surrounding this sad death,” Detective Chief Inspector Andy Wolstenhome said.
Although a formal identification has not yet occurred, we believe we have identified the woman and notified her next of kin, whom we will continue to assist throughout the investigation.
