Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed from duty after a misconduct hearing found him guilty of making sexist posts on TikTok.
PC Daniel Naggea, who was attached to a unit covering the Enfield and Haringey areas, was found to have created several offensive and disrespectful posts on the short-form video app. The misconduct hearing, held today, concluded that PC Naggea had breached the standards expected of a serving police officer.
As a result, he has been dismissed without notice for committing gross misconduct.
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines commented on the dismissal: “PC Naggea’s posts on social media were both offensive and disrespectful. This behaviour is unacceptable. PC Naggea has fallen well below the standards we expect from our officers and it is only right that he has been dismissed from the Met.”
PC Naggea will now be added to the ‘barred list’ held by the College of Policing. Individuals on this list are prohibited from being employed by police forces and related bodies across the country.
The Metropolitan Police Service has reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of conduct and professionalism among its officers. The dismissal of PC Naggea underscores the force’s zero-tolerance policy towards behaviour that undermines public trust and confidence in the police.
